Citrus are the major exported products in Agro City. They are one of the main crops that are cultivated in Egypt, as they represent 29% of the total fruits. In recent years, the production of citrus fruits in Egypt exceeds 4 million tons.

Citrus fruits are high in Vitamin C and a rich source of citric acid, which are beneficial nutrients for health. They are known for their refreshing fragrance and the harsh texture of their peels. They can be eaten fresh, drunk as juice, or added to salads as a dressing.

Orange

Orange’s sizes vary from medium to large, and its shapes are round and oval. The fruit’s color between red and yellow and the texture of the peel is dimpled. The average weight of a medium-sized orange is 131 grams.

Lemon

We export in Agro City the most popular types of lemon in different sizes. They are a hybrid of bitter oranges and citrons.

The lemon’s color varies from green to yellow, and the average weight ranges from 50 to 80 grams, in addition, their sizes are small to medium, and they range from 5 to 8 cm.

Grapefruit

Our exported products of citrus covers also grapefruit. We export the fruit over the winter season. This product is a hybrid of large yellow pomelo and Jamaican oranges.

Grapefruits are larger than oranges, with an average size ranging from 100 mm to 15 mm. The fruit’s color is yellow outside and dark pink or red inside.
